The Easy Fixes For Your Post Holiday Slump

It is the start of January, your body is wondering why you are sitting bolt upright at a desk, why there is no sand between your toes, why you got up way before 7am this morning or why the endless stream of food has seemed to come to a stop.  As much as your mind may be motivated and focussed to smash out your work, it is 100% natural to feel a little slow at this time of the year!

Here are the ADFX teams three tips on how to make sure you are getting back into the daily grind as easily as possible… we all know these are absolute NO BRAINERS, they are here to simply serve as a gentle reminder to kick yourself back into gear.

  1. Get your sleeping patterns back into routine

Stop watching Black Mirror and get to bed at a decent time! This is specific as this is what my focus is right now. It is tempting when Netflix just keeps playing and playing, but switch that off… even pop on an app or YouTube video with a guided sleep meditation. Guarantee you will be asleep before you know it

  1. Eat well, eat plenty, drink water

It can be natural at this time of the year to say ‘okay, diet is back on’, which is great… as longs you are not depriving yourself. Eat food that will energise you, is fresh, healthy and of course delicious. Plus *cue the cliché message* – make it a lifestyle NOT a ‘diet’. Replace your stubby cooler for a 1-2 litre bottle of water and keep it with you always, refilling as much as you need. If you are in our part of the world, it is also still smouldering hot, so it is needed.

  1. Move that body

Even if you are feeling sluggish, resist the temptation to become an automatic couch potato as soon as you walk through the door at night! Whether you want to ease into it by going for a brisk walk or power back into with a killer F45 session – listen to your body and pick what works best for you

And that is it!! Get that routine back on track and start the year off right. Plus remember that working out will encourage your mind to want to eat better, then your work out will make your body begging for rest, allowing you to fall asleep so much easier! All the tips work together, and we guarantee you will feel the difference at 3.00 o’clock the next day!
